Press conference to present Cocktail Boulevard
Last Thursday, November 7th, The Bistrot de Santa Eulalia was the scene of the press conference presenting the first edition of Cocktail Boulevard, the first cocktail festival in Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona to be held from November 14th to 24th.
The president of the Association of Passeig de Gràcia, Mr. Luis Sans, together with the president of the DO Cava, Javier Pagés, and Javier de las Muelas, as spokesman of all the bartenders of Passeig de Gràcia presented to all the assistants the news of this new event that will become a new reference in the city.
In the words of Luis Sans, “Cocktail Boulevard promotes the culture of cocktails and recovers the pre-dinner. These are gastronomic cocktails to enjoy. This festival is committed to Cava, to showcase it as something very much ours and very authentic from Barcelona”. Javier de las Muelas said that “these are ten days to enjoy, to give value to the pre-dinner” and that “the cocktail is a reason to stay, go out and be with our peers”. Finally, Javier Pagés, has declared that “Cava is, in this festival, the main ingredient of this set of cocktails, which is a pride since Cava is Barcelona itself, and is part of the landscape of the city”. He has emphasized its “versatile” character with the following words: “Cava will surprise in each of these cocktails, thanks to its great versatility and universal harmony, accompanying the gastronomy”.
For ten days, the avenue and the adjacent streets will offer proposals with and without alcohol at special prices to discover the mastery of the cocktail makers and shakers of the area. Moreover, as a common denominator, all proposals with alcohol include among its ingredients the Cava.
A total of 13 establishments will host this cocktail bar exhibition, which will showcase the talent of cocktail makers. For €9 and €6 euros, with and without alcohol respectively, you can enjoy the different proposals, all accompanied by an aperitif. Inspired by the pre-dinner, Cocktail Boulevard bets on cocktails that help to settle the stomach in the moment before dinner.
Cocktail Boulevard is filled with sophistication thanks to the Cava and its elaboration process, thus giving the festival a halo of excellence and glamour. From all the proposals presented, the cocktail with Cava that best represents Barcelona will be chosen, giving rise to Cocktail Barcelona. Thus, Barcelona will have its own combination as it happens in other places in the world, such as the Manhattan or Mar del Plata cocktails.
The 13 establishments that will participate on Cocktail Boulevard are: Sintonia, Mr. Porter, Impur Cocktail Bar, Boca Chica, Santa Eulalia (The Bistrot), H10 Casa Mimosa (El Til·ler), The One Barcelona, Hotel Royal Passeig de Gràcia, Solomillo, Monument Hotel (Hall0 Cocktail Bar), Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona (El Bar del Majestic), Claris Hotel & Spa and Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona (Banker’s Bar).
