Security workshops for Passeig de Gràcia associates

On November 5 and 9, the members of the Passeig de Gràcia Association attended the two workshops that we organized in collaboration with the Mossos d’Esquadra and the Guàrdia Urbana de Barcelona, and in which agents of these two security forces explained us techniques of preventing theft and other similar crimes in the establishments of Passeig de Gràcia.

These two days, aimed at goalkeepers and store managers, heads of reception and hotel managers, in charge of restaurants and cultural spaces, helped to know how to prevent crime and how to act before a criminal act, as well as to inform our associated on some techniques used by criminals.
Security in the streets of Barcelona, and also in Passeig de Gràcia, is a subject of vital importance for all the affected groups. Safe streets invite citizens and tourists to walk and enjoy all its shops, restaurants and hotels.

In the workshops held at the Alexandra Barcelona Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, the agents of the two security forces showed us real examples of crimes committed in several stores around the world, for which they used recordings from the cameras of security of these establishments. They wanted to highlight the importance of having high quality recording equipment, in order to identify those responsible for the crime more easily.
They also wanted to highlight the importance of training, especially among workers in the establishments, because they are the first to have to deal with this type of acts, and physical and psychological preparation are essential for knowing how to act.
We want to especially thank the agents of the security forces for their presence and their great service for improving the safety of our streets.
