During the first week of February, the Associació Passeig de Gràcia participated in an action in the Middle East, one of the key markets where we have been worked since 2018.

The Roadshow was organized by Catalunya Premium  (we are members), the Agència Catalana de Turisme brand, aimed at companies and entities linked to the luxury sector that offer premium proposals designed to impact the public that visits Catalonia looking for authentic, exclusive and customized experiences.

It was divided into commercial visits and workshops to agencies in Doha, Kuwait, Duabi and Abu Dhabi.

When we arrived in Doha, a dinner and a presentation of the market were organized for all the participants, as well as a detailed explanation of all the visits and the program of the action. The group was made up of different hotels, which are part of the Passeig de Gràcia Association, such as Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL, Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona, and others such as the PGA Camiral and Value Retail.

In Doha, Kuwait and Dubai there were 3 workshops, with presentation and subsequent dinner-networking. It was shocking the number of companies that attended that are interested in Catalonia as a destination.

Qatar Airways has 18 weekly flights to Barcelona and 3 daily flights during the summer. Ethiad, is operating a daily flight with Barcelona, since last year, and Emirates also offers daily connections with our city. The availability and supply of flights is so high that promotes tourism in our region.

The most interesting commercial visits where with the operators of the main airlines, Emirates, Qatar, Ethiad.  Currently, the Agència Catalana de Turisme is in communication to implement promotional campaigns.

Regarding commercial operators, were visited several that show us the value of sporting events in Catalonia as a tourist attraction, as well as shopping and cultural offerings. It was a highly enriching roadshow which results will be seen throughout this year.
