Lasarte Restaurant, with Paolo Casagrande as Executive Chief and Joan Carles Ibáñez as maître, is the first restaurant to obtain the highest rating in the Red Guide in the city of Barcelona. The Donostiarra cooker, who totals 8 stars, becomes the first chef with two restaurants triers in history in the Red Guide in Spain.
Lasarte Restaurant, located in Monument Hotel Barcelona 5GL, opened its doors in January 2006. One year after opening, in 2007 it was awarded the first star and in 2010 it obtained the Second star in the Michelin Guide.

Martin Berasategui becomes the first chef with two restaurants triers in the history of the Michelin Guide in Spain. The Donostiarra cooker also maintains the three Michelin Stars of his “mother house”, the Martín Berasategui Restaurant in the village of Lasarte in the Basque Country, and both of the Restaurant M.B located in the luxury resort The Ritz-Carlton Abama in Tenerife.
Martin Berasategui and Paolo Casagrande have indicated that they consider themselves “very lucky and happy. It is a recognition of work, enthusiasm, perseverance and authenticity.”
Lasarte Restaurant was completely renovated at the end of 2014, it is located in the new 5 star Hotel Gran del Paseo de Gracia, Monument Hotel, which opened its doors in March 2016.
