In an initiative aimed at promoting dialogue between cultures, Casa Batlló celebrates the Chinese New Year with a program that includes special lighting on its facade and, from January 20, an Intangible Heritage exhibition of the UNESCO of China. The celebration is being held in collaboration with Alipay, the world’s leading mobile payment system, with whom it strengthens its agreement with the intention of facilitating the online sale of tickets to Chinese visitors and thereby compensating for the logical language barrier.

The special lighting on the facade wants to convey a festive message to the thousands of Chinese living in Barcelona and the general public. This will add to the international celebration of Casa Batlló, which will also illuminate other iconic monuments and buildings around the world: the Burj Khalifa (Dubai), the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel (Melbourne), the Polar Research Base (Antarctica), the Oriental Pearl Tower (Shanghai), or the Great Wall (Beijing).
