During the months of March to June, the Passeig de Gràcia Association has remained active at all times to offer the best service to its members in the face of the exceptional moment that was being experienced. Throughout this period, we have carried out multiple virtual meetings with different institutions at all levels, both informative and managerial and also in the political field.

Given the modifications in transport with private vehicles (which have been implemented in the center of the city these last months), the Association has supported the facilitation of the access to the urban nucleus of which our axis is part to promote the recovery and normalization of economic activities.

On a town planning level, a comprehensive report has been presented that includes all the damage and improvements that need to be made on Passeig de Gràcia, from the Jardinets de Gràcia to the Plaça de Catalunya. The usual communication with Mossos d’Esquadra and Guàrdia Urbana has also been maintained in order to keep the area safe and to report any anomalous or unusual situation.

Two virtual meetings were held with the participation of a large number of members of the Association. The purpose of these was to follow up on the global and individual situation and, at the same time, to report on how the events were developing and the measures that were being taken each week.

After the lifting of the state of alarm, and in order to reactivate the economy of the whole associative tissue, we carried out the initiative Passeig de Gràcia Covid Free with the supervision of Dr. Trilla, head of Epidemiology at the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona. This initiative was widely publicized in the press. We also celebrated the Ordinary General Assembly of the Association and we have resumed the publication of news in all our social networks.

Regarding the International Tourism Marketing of the Associació del Passeig de Gràcia, different initiatives have been carried out both for promotion and for training and public relations. We have been in permanent contact with promotion institutions at all levels: Turespaña, Agència Catalana de Turisme and Turisme de Barcelona. We have participated in meetings, training and information sessions and collaborated with the contents and strategies of some of the initiatives planned to relaunch our labor. Specifically, we are part of a working group that is developing a new promotional campaign, planned for the end of this year, beginning of 2021. A campaign aimed at Asian customers, especially from China, Korea and some other Southeast Asian countries. The group is led by Turisme de Barcelona and the campaign will be a mix of offline and online actions.

Throughout these months, we have participated in different training sessions, particularly the one related to the Arab Market in the framework of the monitoring we are doing of these countries. Likewise, we participated for the second year in the Roadshow of the Catalan Agency of Tourism, in the cities of Kuwait, Yeddha, Riyadh, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

In early June, we trained over 100 travel agents, located throughout the United States, from All Star Travel Group (Tzell Travel). In the session, which lasted approximately 30 minutes, we presented Passeig de Gràcia as an exclusive and luxury destination within the city, as well as the most outstanding offer of unique experiences and hotel establishments, restaurants, tourist and cultural icons, and stores.

We continue to work on the relaunch at a national and international level. Moreover, we are preparing a newsletter with all the contacts of our professional database that will present all the news of the offer of Passeig de Gràcia and will emphasize again its most valuable features: security, lifestyle and the high quality of products and services of all the establishments that are in our avenue.
