Monument Hotel 5GL is putting the final touches to welcome its first Valentine’s Day and becoming the most romantic place in Barcelona to proclaim love to the couple. Martín Berasategui and Javier de las Muelas, in charge of the Oria restaurant and the cocktail bar Hall0, respectively, have revealed their romantic proposals to celebrate the traditional 14th of February.

For couples looking to pay tribute to Valentine’s Day, the Basque chef has designed a special dinner consisting of a starter, three main courses and two desserts. It includes an appetizer followed by: crab salad with potatoes with olive oil and avocado, lacqued gilt-head bream with parsnip puree, sauteed peas and pink grapefruit vinaigrette and roasted beef tenderloin, arugula vinaigrette and celery puree with wild mushrooms. Berasategui’s proposal ends with a chocolate soufflé with honey and vanilla ice cream and caramel hail and a selection of petit fours. As an aperitif before dinner or as a climax for the final toast, Javier de las Muelas proposes Crazy in love, a passionate and intense cocktail, full of harmony and details, served in tulip cup.

Monument Hotel will donate part of the collection to the Menudos Corazones Foundation, since February 14 is the International Day of Congenital Heart Disease. “Eight of every 1,000 babies born in the world have this chronical pathology, which means 4,000 more children each year with a heart problem in Spain,” says its director, Amaya Sáez.
Menudos Corazones, a foundation to help children with heart problems, is a non-profit organization whose objective is to facilitate the integral development and to improve the quality of children and young people’s life with congenital heart disease, as well as their relatives.
