As part of the collaboration agreement with the Shopping Line of Turisme de Barcelona Tourism signed in 2015, last month a workshop with Canadian travel agencies and North American was held.
As shown by recent studies developed by Turisme de Barcelona, tourism from the United States increased in 2015 by more than 10% over the previous year, making it one of the nationalities that most visit our city. In addition, the spending of an American tourist stands at 30% above average, very important and motivating fact the “shopping” segment. There is also a noticeable increase in the number of overnight stays, reaching a 6.1% increase over the previous year.
The workshop was held in three cities: Vancouver, which in recent years has shown sustained growth, and Seattle and Los Angeles, for being neuralgic points of tourism in the United States.
Due to the success of participation – more than 200 agents – the Association had the opportunity to show new promotional materials to reaffirm the mission of selling Paseo de Gracia as a tourist destination in Barcelona, which combines culture, gastronomy, accommodation and shopping. In addition to a new promotional video, the Association presented a preview of the new tourist routes: 5 unique experiences with different thematic and durations designed with the aim that the tourist or visitor make the most of Paseo de Gracia.
