Passeig De Gràcia Faces New Normal With Its "Covid Free" Establishments
The Passeig de Gràcia, one of the most important commercial arteries in Europe, hangs the “Covid Free” stamp at the gates of the new normal. The Passeig de Gràcia Association has elaborated, together with the head of Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology of the Hospital Clínic, Dr. Antoni Trilla, a decalogue with sanitary and security measures adapted to the sectors of the establishments that are in the promenade: stores, hotels and restaurants.
In a ceremony held on June 15th at the Hotel Alma, the president of the Association, Mr. Luis Sans, was responsible for publicizing this decalogue whose aim is to generate maximum confidence of visitors and customers of the most cosmopolitan avenue of Barcelona. It should be noted that some of the most emblematic stores and establishments of the city are located there.
Measures include frequent cleaning and disinfection of establishments before and during opening to the public, sanitization of any piece of clothing tested by customers, capacity control, constant ventilation of premises, use of separating screens and catenaries, or certification that workers do not show symptoms when they come to work every day, among others.
Certified establishments have received a seal that lets customers know they can enjoy their experience safely. The APG “Covid Free” seal can be found in the shop windows and entrance doors, accompanied by a QR code that links directly to the Association’s website, so that anyone can consult the Decalogue and also see the list of establishments that have joined this initiative.
With this measure, the Association of Passeig de Gràcia wants to contribute to the revival of trade, catering and hospitality post-Covid-19 in one of the main commercial hubs of Barcelona. “We want to continue to carry the name of Barcelona around the world and contribute to the international prestige of the city.”
