New Paseo de Gracia station awarded at Brunel competition
Last edition of the Brunel awards took place on October 15th in Amsterdam. This competition was created by the Group Watford on 1963, by outstanding architects, designers and other professionals related with the railway sector, aiming to recognise the best projects in the sector and highlighting aesthetic quality, sustainability and customer orientation.
This Brunel award adds to the whole restructuring process carried out at the Paseo during 2014, for the citizens and tourists to better enjoy this insignia avenue of Barcelona. The upturn of this commercial artery, where the City Council has invested 7.4 million euros, as stated by the Consistory, has achieved a clear improvement on mobility, illumination and intelligent management.
Regarding this last point, recently he City Council of Barcelona, has installed eight “smartquesinas” where users can enjoy free wifi connection, integrated applications and NFC/QR technology. One of this active applications is Barcelona Shopping Experience, the application of Paseo de Gracia. Through this app users can consult the best directory of establishments of the Paseo, access to the last news and discover the best proposals to enjoy a full day at the avenue, thanks to the routes suggested by Asociación del Paseo de Gràcia.
