Passeig De Gràcia's New Christmas Lighting Has Been Inaugurated
Last Thursday, November 28th, the Christmas campaign began in Barcelona with the inauguration of the Christmas lights that fill these special dates with colorful experiences.
This year, Passeig de Gràcia will look better than ever, thanks to the new Christmas lighting system that has been inaugurated in the Avenue and that could be seen for the first time in the presentation that the President of the Passeig de Gràcia Association, Mr. Luis Sans, made last October 21th at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies.
The lighting of the Christmas lights, as has been traditional for some years, was carried out in a ceremony that the Barcelona City Council held on this occasion in the Can Fabra square in the Sant Andreu district.
During the next few weeks, Passeig de Gràcia will experience a light and color show every afternoon from 5:30pm until midnight, thanks to the extended lighting schedule.
But even during the day, the new lighting of Passeig de Gràcia will allow to enjoy a Christmas atmosphere thanks to the implementation of certain butterflies whose materials reflect the sunlight and create beautiful effects.
Thanks to the use of LED technology, something that has been done for over 10 years, the electricity consumption of this lighting is efficient and responsible. The campaign has an energy cost of 19 euros per day and about 756 euros in total during the 40 days that the lights will remain on.
The new Christmas lighting, which has already been on the front page of national newspapers such as El Periódico or La Vanguardia, has been created by the prestigious firm Ximénez, and is made up of 355 rows of light distributed along Passeig de Gràcia, in addition to the 150 butterflies installed both in the central lane of the promenade and on the sidewalks.
With this new lighting, which can be enjoyed during the next three Christmases, Passeig de Gràcia becomes the perfect place in Barcelona to let yourself be soaked by the atmosphere of these dates and do the shopping or enjoy its hotels and restaurants will have more Christmas color than ever.
