CASA BATLLÓ
CASA BATLLÓ
Description
Casa Batlló is a modernist-style house in Barcelona built by the architect Antoni Gaudí between 1904 and 1906, as a result of the complete renovation of an old building from 1877. Since 2002, Casa Batlló works as a house-museum, opened for cultural visits and special events. Since 2021, after a total renovation, the house has opened two new immersive rooms in the old coal cellar, in the basement: Gaudí Dôme, with a dome of more than a thousand screens, 21 audio channels and a mapping that show the origin of the genius's inspiration ; and Gaudí Cube, the world's first six-sided LED cube. The interior of the museum includes the former home of the Batlló family, the rear and central courtyards, and the roof terrace. The entire house is interpreted for visitors thanks to an audio guide available in 15 languages and a Virtual Reality tablet with emotional narration. The unique combination of analogue and digital components heightens the appreciation of a restored World Heritage building, using artisan know-how with amazing new high-end digital technologies.
