Participation in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell - Trofeo Conde de Godó
Over nine days, between April 20 and 28, Barcelona became the tennis capital of the world and looks forward to making the most out of the occasion. To show the level of involvement of Barcelona and its citizens, two historic icons of the city, such as the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó and the Passeig de Gràcia, put together their image and their shared values linked to sport and elegance, allowing everyone to feel part of such a relevant and prestigious event.

The project was activated over 14 days and consisted in the decoration, with tennis themes, of the store windows located in Passeig de Gràcia.
The participating stores received identifying elements of the tournament (Vinyl) for their layout in their store windows and, also, a number of tickets. Furthermore, the most original/elaborate store window received a VIP double ticket for the Final (April 28th).

A little history…
This event has its origins in 1899. In April, several English families founded, under the presidency of Great Britain’s Consul, the Barcelona Lawn Tennis Club (current Real Club de Tenis Barcelona). In 1953, Carlos Godó Valls, Conde de Godó, decided to establish the celebration of a tournament which gathered the ambitions of the whole history of the Club.
In 1953, the Trofeu Conde de Godó, which was then later renovated by J. Roca Joyeros, is designed by the jewelers Soler Cabot. This work shows a miniature of a tennis player located on its upper lid.

In 1968, the Tournament acquires the condition of International Spanish Championships (Campeonatos Internacionales de España). And in 2008, the Banc Sabadell becomes the main Tournament’s sponsor. It’s the birth of the OpenSabadellAtlántico. In 2009, the Bank extends the Sponsorship up to 2015 and the Tournament’s name becomes Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell.
In 2014, the agreement between Banc Sabadell and the Tournament was once again extended up to 2020.
