It is a well known fact that summer is a great time for music festivals and outdoor concerts. But with a city like Barcelona, cultural activity is always bustling and, once summertime is over, music events still remain.

The new season of Gran Teatre del Liceu starts on October 5th with Turandot, the opera by Puccini. During the upcoming month the program will also include Aida and Carmen, as well as dance shows by major companies such as the English National Ballet, under the direction of Tamara Rojo, who will present a new version of Giselle on stage. Of course, during these months, you will also be able to enjoy the regular programming of the Palau de la Música i de L’Auditori, the other two major art centers of the city.

Saint Etienne, Mónica Naranjo, Mika, Diego el Cigala, Ilegales, Manolo García and Carlos Núñez will be some of the most prominent artists on stage during the festival.

The Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona (Barcelona International Jazz Festival) – the go-to event for this music style that this year round will see figures such as Herbie Hancock, Kyle Eastwood, Andrea Motis, Chicuelo, Las Migas, La Locomotora Negra, Joan Chamorro, Martirio & Chano Domínguez, Estrella Morente, Pegasus and Wynton Marsalis – is also set to start in October.

Despite its name, the Primavera Club is an autumn festival that intends to bring the spirit of the renowned Primavera Sound into autumn, with a series of performances in some of the most emblematic venues of the city, such as Sala Apolo.
