As a result of the collaboration of the Amics del Passeig de Gracia and the consultancy Chinese Friendly, last April the Association was present at the CETCOM (China Experience Travel Communication Market) the first platform on tourism experiences in China, and the COTTM (China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market).
The first edition of CETCOM, gave the opportunity for tourism businesses to present their products to the most important Chinese travel agencies and specialized media in the country. The event ended with a positive day of networking, thus promising a second edition of the event in the city of Shanghai.
Moreover, the COTTM, considered the largest exhibition of Chinese tourism, had thousands of attendees and more than one hundred exhibitors and ended with the most successful outcome of the previous editions. These positive results are due to targeting the sector to present and publicize experiences rather than geographical destinations and the growing popularity of Mediterranean destination in China.
To reinforce the figure of the Association, once completed both events, Chinese Friendly carried out an action of email marketing to all your contacts and attending CETCOM and COTTM inviting participants of such events to visit Barcelona and Paseo de Gracia.
According to Chinese Friendly, last year more than 120 million Chinese tourists went outside its borders. While it is true that Spain is not among the Top 10 of their favorite destinations, in recent years there has been an increase of 12%, a fact that suggests that our country, specifically Barcelona (which hosts 50% of Chinese tourists coming to Spain) is a booming destination. For this reason, all institutions and companies that configure the tourist offer of Barcelona, must seize the opportunity and position ourselves as a “must” in the mind of the Chinese consumer.
