Our map & "Welcome card" welcome cruise passengers at the Port of Barcelona and Fira de Barcelona
Ports in Spain exceeded in the first nine months of the year six million cruise passengers, representing an increase of 11.7% compared to 5.4 million in the same period of 2014 (634,000), according data provided by the State-owned Spanish Port System (Puertos del Estado).
During the first nine months of 2015, Barcelona recorded the highest number of cruise passengers in absolute terms, with 1.9 million, an increase of 5.2%, while the Balearic Islands ranked second and Las Palmas got the ranking’s third position.
Just over 50% of cruise passengers visit Barcelona as an scale (about 1.2 million) and the other half is divided among those who begin or end their cruise in Barcelona.
To take advantage of this opportunity the association Friends of Passeig de Gràcia has signed an agreement with Acmar, the company that manages the new Port information points to distribute the map of Passeig de Gràcia and the “Welcome card” to all those cruise passengers who visit the city on their own. Information points are strategically located, they are very attractive to the public and their hostesses speak several languages. In order to increase their knowledge of Passeig de Gràcia several visits are planned along these months to the different brand segments and establishments of Passeig de Gràcia.
In the past two months the distribution of the “Welcome Card” has been intensified thanks to our collaboration with Fira de Barcelona, over 2,000 units have been distributed at Expohogar, Pools and Boat Show events.
