As usual in recent years (this has been the 13th edition), the Associació del Passeig de Gràcia held the annual dinner with its partners on Wednesday, June 7th.

This year the event was located at the Majestic Hotel & Spa, where a menu prepared by the prestigious chef Nandu Jubany was the perfect prelude for a night of celebration among all the members and friends of the Association.
In addition, the event coincided with the 65th anniversary of the association, which, far from thinking about retirement, faces the future with more energy than ever before, as demonstrated by the speech that Luis Sans, President of the association, gave at the end of the Dinner, and talked about both the successes of the different acts of the past year and the plans for the future for this 2017. Sans also spoke about the importance of quality tourism to achieve these goals, and the need to bet on this business model for the wealth it brings to the city.

Among the other guests of honor to the dinner we can’t forget the chef Martín Berasategui, who was awarded with Amic del Passeig de Gràcia prize, for his contribution to popularize the street for more than 30 years thanks to Lasarte Restaurant, which has recently achieved its third Michelin star, becoming the first venue in the city of Barcelona to achieve such a prestigious honor. Only 1,5km away, Passeig de Gràcia concentrates six of the more than twenty Michelin stars that Barcelona has. Berasategui, visibly excited, commented that the work and the desire to make happy people who visit his restaurant have been the main reasons that have made this recognition a reality.

On the part of the local authorities, besides the attendance of representatives of different parties present in the city council, we counted on the presence of Jaume Collboni, second lieutenant of mayor of the City council of Barcelona, that emphasized the importance that the Passeig de Gràcia has for the weaving Commercial area of the city, as well as the recognition it boasts as one of the most prestigious shopping streets in the world.

At midnight, the event ended, placing everyone until next year, which we hope will be one night as unforgettable as last Wednesday.
