A more secure Passeig de Gràcia
A Passeig de Gràcia Association project has been launched to increase the safety of citizens on the avenue. Due to the increase in recent months of criminal actions in the city and Paseo de Graciase, it has been decided implement different actions that we hope will have an impact and be effective for all people. To carry out the project, it has the support of the Guardia Urbana and Mossos d’Esquadra. This security reinforcement project includes the following actions:
Creation of “Seguridad Passeig de Gràcia” WhatsApp group: A group chat will be created – administered by the Association – where there will be the goalkeepers (security), hotel reception manager and shop attendants of all establishments Associates of Passeig de Gràcia that want to be part of it. The objective is the exchange of information on possible suspects of theft. The association will send a summary about these information to the security forces. It is very useful in their investigations and possible arrests.
Safety training workshop: This workshop will be teached by members of the security forces (Guàrdia Urbana and Mossos d’Esquadra), and it is aimed at the porters and directors of stores, reception managers and hotel managers in charge of restaurants and restaurants Cultural spaces, to explain how to prevent crimes and how to act before a criminal act and give the best guidelines to follow. The course will last about 2 hours and will be organized in groups of 20 people at the same time.
Letter forwarding to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Ministry of Justice: A letter will be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office requesting the most convincing preventive measures against criminals, and requesting removal orders against them. On the other hand, a letter will be sent to the Ministry of Justice for the delay of one year in the system of fast judgments for minor offenses. The operation of this system is very important as a dissuasive effect on criminals.
Popular accusation: The possibility is that the Association is persecuted as a popular accusation in the trials against people who comment on a crime inside the Association establishments
Civic agents: It is also being valued to hire civic agents that patrol the avenue to help the security forces in the prevention and persecution of crimes.
