Just a few minutes away from Passeig de Gràcia, both the local strollers of Barcelona and the visitors can still enjoy – until the end of March – which will undoubtedly have been one of the great cultural events of the season: the Stanley Kubrick exhibition in the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), which is dedicated to one of the greatest names in the history of cinema.

The exhibition has been seen before in other major cities of the world, but in this case -in addition to having been adapted to the CCCB space- it has its own contents that have been specifically conceived for the Barcelona public, such as a audiovisual biographical montage or interviews with their Spanish collaborators.

The exhibition represents a true immersion in the creative universe of the legendary North American director Stanley Kubrick, whose career is reviewed from his beginnings as a photographer for Look magazine to projects he could never complete -such as his biography of Napoleon -, going through his twelve feature films, among which are Spartacus, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, The Shining and Eyes Wide Shut.  Stanley Kubrick includes lots of audiovisual material – photographs, videos … -, objects from the filmmaker’s archives (models, costumes, screenplays) and personal correspondence. Among the emblematic objects that the visitor of the exhibition can see up close is the monkey dress of 2001: A Space Odyssey; the dresses of the twin sisters of The Shining; the helmet of Full Metal Jacket; and the Eyes Wide Shut masks. There is also a remarkable display of his cameras.

Undoubtedly, an essential appointment for film lovers.

Stanley Kubrick incluye abundante material audiovisual – fotografías, vídeos…-, objetos procedentes de los archivos del
cineasta (maquetas, vestuario, guiones) y correspondencia personal.
