Sound as an art at the exhibition "Interval. Sound actions" in Fundació Antoni Tàpies
When entering the exhibition visitors have the feeling of being in front of a visual vacuum. Is in that precise moment when everything begins to take shape and they start to perceive the content offered. Interval. Sound actions seeks to determine how music sounds in a museum and therefore it’s been discarded the use of headphones that would not take into account the space chosen.
Visitors can enjoy various proposals when entering the exhibition because there are many activities available. Besides sound installations, there’s also access to videos, lectures, concerts and a series of radio broadcasts every Wednesday at 17h, with the participation of all the artists included in the exhibition, an Erica Wise’s interpretation of Wunschkonzert by Hanne Darboven, the Lluïsa Espigolé’s interpretation of An Hour for Piano by Tom Johnson, a Jaume Ferrete’s participation and a collective trance guided by Quim Pujol.
Although the sample keeps its focus on hearing, does not come from a concept that excludes all other determining factors, meaning you don’t have to be silent to enjoy the ambient of the exhibition.
