Monument Hotel and Martín Berasategui celebrate their first Christmas in the restaurant Oria
Monument Hotel Barcelona 5GL welcomes its first Christmas with a select gastronomic proposal designed by the 8-star Michelín Martín Berasategui for the Oria restaurant, which offers a fresh cuisine inspired by the gastronomy of the countries bathed by the Mediterranean with a nod to the Basque Country.
For the Christmas Lunch, the Basque chef has made a succulent menu of 140€ per person consisting of Royal crab salad with potatoes, olive oil and avocado, followed by the traditional Escudella, Lobster rice and sea salad, Roasted cow with mashed potatoes, arugula and truffled sauce, and Opera cake, nougat and neulas closing the menu. For a perfect pairing, bottles from the winery will be recommended by Joan Carles Ibáñez among which there will wines and cavas from Penedés, Rioja Alta and Alella.
Exclusively for New Year’s Eve Dinner, Martín Berasategui and his team have designed a gala menu to enjoy throughout the high of the most celebrated calendar date in the world. For 285€ each diner, the cast of dishes that will parade on the table consists of delicate snacks such as San Silvestre octopus salad, Lentil soup with foie gras poêlé, Creamy parmesan risotto with lobster and boletus, Steamed seabass with “Txinparta” of oyster and Champagne sauce, Grilled beef sirloin with a potato stuffed with marrow, piquillos and truffled sauce and as dessert, Pistachos and yozu followed by a sweet palet d’or chocolate croquant. As a colophon, Petit fours, nougat, neulas and grapes of luck to welcome the new year. The pairing will be carried out by Perrier & Jouët, Saint-Clair Family, Rothschilds & Vega Sicilia and Quina do Noval.
The Oria restaurant is a modern, casual and sophisticated air space located in the hotel lobby that also offers a Christmas Eve Dinner for € 160 per person based on Smoked Salmon Salad, Hot Almond Soup, Loin of angler, Risotto and, as dessert, Panettone classic with Turrones and neulas.
For San Esteban Lunch, the proposal is a menu of € 140 per diner consisting of Escudella, Oxtail canelloni, Small crabs rice, Roasted Sirloin cow and Tart Opera, Nougat and dessert neulas.
And for those who want to start the new year with a gift for the senses, for 75 €, price without harmony of wines, you can taste an exquisite New Year’s Lunch composed by the first two to choose between Emebe Salad or Corn Soup, followed by Anchovy Loin or Iberian pork cheek and, to close, Rice with milk or Palet d’or.
