Casa Batlló, with the environment
Casa Batlló has joined forces with BidAway and Omaze -online platforms for solidarity auctions and fundraising- in a joint charity campaign that includes an experience aimed at encouraging donations that will go to Plastic Oceans, an organization that works to raise awareness about the population about plastic pollution. The campaign offers participants the chance to win a trip to Barcelona from February 13 to 17, 2020, to discover Gaudí’s Casa Batlló and enjoy a private dinner of chef Martín Berasategui’s catering and an exclusive concert overlooking Passeig de Gràcia. The experience also includes accommodation at the 5-star Monument Hotel.
Those interested can participate by entering omaze.com/casa and sending their request; participation does not require a donation, but it is expected to raise a figure close to $ 100,000, which will go entirely to Plastic Oceans.
According to Gary Gautier, general director of Casa Batlló, “Antoni Gaudí was inspired by the marine universe to design Casa Batlló. The aquatic nature of this work and the use of recycled materials in it evokes every day the importance of educating, inspiring and raise awareness to preserve the biosphere. This commitment is what made us choose Plastic Oceans, an organization that reminds us that we are all part of the solution.”
Bidaway and Casa Batlló hope to obtain excellent results both in terms of participation and donation, and that this initiative is the first of many others.
